Job summary

Abode Communities in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our property management team. You will perform repairs, safety checks, and preventive maintenance across our multifamily properties, coordinating with the Community Manager and contractors to keep buildings in excellent condition.

Your role includes daily inspections, handling resident service requests, and responding to after-hours emergencies as needed. Three years' maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years general maintenance experience (plastering, painting, basic plumbing such as unclogging toilets and drains, carpentry).
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Valid California driver's license and availability of an insured vehicle.
• Take direction from Management and work collaboratively with vendors, residents and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor property maintenance and repairs as assigned by the Community Manager including plastering, painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical work.
• Observe and practice safety procedures; do not leave equipment unattended and wear safety gear.
• Prioritize, schedule and complete resident service requests for unit repairs and janitorial duties.
• Prepare properties for inspections by regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate and monitor progress of vendors or outside contractors.
• Inspect property daily and report needed repairs to the Community Manager.
• Respond to after-hours and weekend maintenance emergencies.
