Job summary

Greystar in Houston is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform technical and mechanical work ensuring buildings, grounds, and amenities meet standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

You will diagnose resident requests, complete work orders, prepare vacant units for leasing, and supervise vendors. Strong customer service and tool proficiency are essential; EPA Type I/II or Universal certifications may be required for HVAC work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Own hand tools unless prohibited by State law; safe use of tools and equipment.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to define and correct problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication with residents.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively for coordination with teams.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheets; property mgmt system helpful.
• Mathematical skills to handle basic financial and administrative documents.

Responsibilities

• Assists and completes work orders from resident requests and routine maintenance.
• Oversees and completes the make-ready process for vacant units and leasing readiness.
• Develops standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, amenities, and common areas.
• Inspects work performed by team members and develops corrective action plans.
• Inspects contractors and vendors to verify quality and conformance.
• Maintains inventory and coordinates with Community Manager on purchases.
• Completes monthly preventative maintenance procedures and supports budgeting.
