Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service and maintain community buildings, grounds, and furnishings. You will diagnose and repair issues, manage make-ready turnover, and uphold Greystar standards for safety and appearance.

You will work with residents and staff, prioritize requests, and coordinate with vendors. A valid driver’s license, EPA certifications, and tools are required; related experience is preferred and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Own hand tools unless prohibited by state law; safe use of tools and equipment.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to diagnose and fix problems.
• Customer service and interpersonal communication to interact with residents and staff.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively for policy and procedures.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and basic database programs; property management system experience preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills for financial and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests and complete repairs per policies and safety standards.
• Oversee make-ready process for vacancy turnover, inspect and coordinate tasks with vendors.
• Set and maintain standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, amenities, and units.
• Periodically inspect work by team members to ensure policy compliance and quality.
• Review work by contractors and vendors for scope, materials, and quality.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts; coordinate orders with Community Manager.
• Perform monthly preventive maintenance as per manual.
• Assist Community Manager with budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Support cost-saving by repairing parts when feasible; use tools efficiently.
• Lead safety meetings; ensure MSDS and OSHA compliance.
