Job summary

Greystar is seeking a qualified maintenance technician to manage resident-requested repairs, perform routine upkeep, and oversee make-ready processes for leasing homes. The role emphasizes safety, equipment handling, and effective communication with residents and management.

The successful candidate will uphold Greystar standards for cleanliness, ground and exterior maintenance, and ensure timely completion of tasks while coordinating with vendors and the community manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Must provide own hand tools and safe use of hand/power tools and equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents and team.
• Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; PM system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work orders from residents and perform maintenance tasks per safety policies.
• Oversee make-ready process for vacant homes, schedule vendors, and ensure timely turnover.
• Set cleanliness/appearance standards for grounds, exteriors, interiors, and common areas.
• Inspect work by team members and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain inventory of parts and tools; assist in budget planning and cost control.
• Perform monthly preventative maintenance per policy.
• Support budget development for repairs and capital projects.
• Contribute to safety meetings and stay compliant with OSHA and safety laws.
• Provide responsive customer service to residents and staff.
