Job summary

Essex Property Trust is seeking a Porter to maintain the grounds, curb appeal, clubhouse, amenities, and other common areas at one or more properties. The role includes cleaning exterior areas, stocking supplies, and assisting residents to preserve a quality living environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and comfort with basic computer tasks and using a smartphone for property apps. A five‑day on‑site workweek is typical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate golf carts on site.
• Comfortable using a smartphone for property apps and basic emails.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Custodial or general maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exterior areas, sidewalks, parking lots, and landscaping.
• Keep common areas clean, stocked, and well‑maintained.
• Report maintenance issues to Supervisors promptly.
• Assist residents and guests professionally and courteously.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as snow/ice removal and power washing.
