Job summary

Essex is hiring a Porter to maintain the grounds, curb appeal, clubhouse, amenities, and other common areas at multiple properties in Los Angeles. You will clean exterior spaces, restock supplies, and ensure a safe, welcoming living environment for residents.

The role requires basic custodial experience, the ability to multitask, and strong communication in English. It is a full-time, on-site position with potential housing discounts and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Custodial or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exterior areas including sidewalks, parking lots, courtyards, and landscaping.
• Clean and maintain common areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms, fitness centers).
• Stock supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels) and report hazards.
• Interact with residents professionally and assist as needed.
• Perform seasonal tasks (snow/ice removal, leaf blowing, power washing).
