Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking a detailed, analytical underwriter to join the US Property Facultative Reinsurance Team. You will collaborate with senior management and underwriters to grow the book and optimize portfolio profitability.

Responsibilities include account-level underwriting, cross-functional coordination, and maintaining broker relationships, with travel of roughly 10–15%. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in the field are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in Property Facultative (Re)insurance preferred.
• Knowledge of Property Facultative products and insurance regulations.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong quantitative and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of a US-based Property Facultative Reinsurance book.
• Underwrite property reinsurance within designated authority and risk appetite.
• Liaise with internal teams (claims, compliance, legal) and external brokers.
• Participate in external underwriting audits and market groups.
• Develop cross-selling opportunities and maintain broker relationships.
