Job summary

Calqulate Metrics Ltd in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT heavy civil roadway, bridge and utility projects. You will lead projects from preconstruction through closeout, manage budgets, schedules and safety, and coordinate with superintendents, engineers and inspectors.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years as PM of record on NCDOT work, proven cost control, and experience with self-perform teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as the Project Manager of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work for a contractor.
• NCDOT project experience as PM required; ready to name the jobs.
• Experience running projects in their entirety; not an APM/Engineer role.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects as PM of record from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin on every job.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report performance to leadership.
• Work with estimating on bids and handoff so the job starts right.
• Keep a strong safety culture on every site.
