Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects in Charlotte and central North Carolina.

You will lead projects from preconstruction through closeout, owning budgets, schedules and margins while coordinating with superintendents, engineers and vendors. Candidates should have 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil work, proven NCDOT experience, and the ability to manage field teams and change orders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work.
• NCDOT PM experience required; name the jobs when asked.
• Experience running projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Strong cost control, scheduling, change orders and field-team management.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent field experience.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects as PM of record from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin on every job.
• Submit accurate cost/income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, report to leadership.
• Collaborate with estimating on bids and handoffs to start the job correctly.
• Maintain a strong safety culture on every site.
