Job summary

United Future is hiring a Project Engineer out of its Tampa office to lead engineering and project controls for heavy civil highway work across Florida. This role suits candidates with 5–8 years in civil construction who can manage multiple activities and coordinate with subs, vendors, and field crews.

You will review contracts, support the PM, prepare schedules in Primavera P6, track quantities and costs, and assist with monthly billing and change orders.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in civil construction, office and field.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Emphasis preferred.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• FDOT project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent on day-to-day needs.
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting.
• Get pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts.
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change orders.
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings.
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy.
• Keep NPDES permits and SWPPP on track with inspections and survey staking.
