Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in Tampa, FL is hiring a Project Engineer with 5–8 years in civil construction to own the engineering and project controls for heavy civil highway work, including FDOT projects. The ideal candidate will manage multiple activities, coordinate with PMs and field teams, and relocate if needed.

You’ll support scheduling in Primavera P6, prepare cost forecasts, and oversee document control, billing, and subcontractor coordination in a dynamic Florida environment.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of civil construction experience in office and field.
• BS in Civil Engineering, ideally Construction Eng & Mgmt emphasis.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• FDOT project experience is a plus and relocation is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Review contract and specifications in their entirety.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent on daily needs.
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting.
• Obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors; manage change orders.
• Coordinate subs, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts.
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change orders.
• Run document control for submittals and contract documents.
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy.
• Maintain NPDES permits, SWPPP, inspections and survey staking on track.
