Job summary

Your Talent Team in Tampa, FL is hiring a Project Engineer for a heavy civil highway and bridge contractor. This role is ideal for 5–8 years in civil construction and offers a real path with a stable employer; you’ll own project controls and engineering for FDOT projects from the Tampa office.

Based in the Tampa Bay area or willing to relocate, you’ll use Primavera P6, Excel, and Word daily, support scheduling, billing, and field coordination, and contribute to project success across Florida.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of civil construction field experience.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering with Construction Engineering & Management emphasis.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Excel and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• FDOT project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety.
• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day-to-day needs.
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and crews to resolve field conflicts.
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change orders.
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings.
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy.
• Keep NPDES permits, the SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner on track.
