Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a Project Engineer in Tampa to own the engineering and project controls for heavy civil highway projects across Florida. The role suits a candidate with 5–8 years in civil construction looking for a stable, well-backed employer and a clear career path in project management.

The engineer will manage scheduling in Primavera P6, track costs, coordinate with subcontractors, and support monthly billing while maintaining field documentation and compliance with permits.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in civil construction, office and field.
• Experience managing multiple activities on heavy civil work.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management emphasis.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• FDOT project experience is a plus.
• HCSS HeavyJob experience is a plus.
• Based in the Tampa Bay area or ready to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety.
• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day-to-day project needs.
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting.
• Get pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts.
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change order processing.
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings.
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy.
• Keep NPDES permits, the SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner on track.
