Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to assist the Project Managers and ensure that work installed on the project meets plan and specification requirements. The role requires an on-site presence and relocation to project locations nationwide.

You will review shop drawings, coordinate with architects and trades, publish weekly progress reports, update schedules, and help develop scope of work for trade contractors while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 1+ year of experience with a commercial general contractor or internship preferred.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers to ensure work meets plans and specs.
• Review plans for constructability and materials.
• Attend and document project meetings and distribute minutes.
• Publish weekly progress reports and update schedules.
• Assist in bidding and scoping for trades.
