Job summary

Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer to support field activities and assist the Project Manager on multiple projects, handling budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and quality control.

You will generate cost reports, manage change orders, coordinate with pre-construction, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Bachelor's degree and construction experience required; strong MS Office and project software skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years' experience or 6 years' construction-related experience
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Generates and obtains approvals of monthly billing and earned values
• Develops and manages the project schedule on small or mid-sized projects
• Analyzes targets and goals, job cost summaries, and other reports
• Alerts the Superintendent and Project Manager of project impact relating to resource management
• Generates and obtains approval of the initial budget and updates, and reviews weekly job cost summaries
• Generates estimates of change orders and interfaces with pre-construction on bids
• Coordinates with the project team to manage the job transition process and procurement plans
• Generates material quantity take-offs and procurement support
• Prepares field purchase orders and major purchase orders
• Gathers financial reports and participates in project financial reviews
• Works with Project Manager to approve and code invoices
• Generates technical records such as constructability reports, RFIs, and deviation reports
• Coordinates with Superintendent and other roles to generate as-built records
• Manages work package closure, punch lists, and turnover process
• Collects documentation to identify contract changes, disputes, and claims
• Leads LEAN/SQP committee and identifies improvement opportunities
• Ensures subcontractors comply with subcontracts and approves impact notices
• Reviews reports documenting compliance with wage, workforce, and minority participation frameworks
• Interfaces with Safety and Risk Management on injuries and case management
• Follows recruitment and hiring guidelines and may coordinate E-Verify
• May coordinate training tracking with project management
