Job summary

The Senior Project Engineer at Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. will support field activities and primarily assist the Project Manager with project administration on multiple small projects or one medium-to-large project.

The role may supervise and coordinate for support functions such as Document Control, QA/QC, Scheduler, and Cost Controller. You will lead efforts to manage cost, schedule, procurement, and change orders while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years’ of experience, or 8 years’ of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Basic understanding of construction software such as Primavera, Timberline
• Ability to understand, customize and modify spreadsheets
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
• Must have the ability to exert physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 20 pounds

Responsibilities

• Supports Project Manager on the Management of Cost and Schedule
• Submits and/or approves monthly billings and earned value reports
• Manages development of critical path project schedule documents on one medium to large-sized project
• Manages analysis of targets and goals, job cost summaries, and other reports
• Works with the Superintendent and Project Manager to affect positive change relating to project resources
• Supports the Project Manager by reviewing and negotiating change orders and tracks status
• Manages the procurement process and makes recommendations to the Project Manager
• Approves field purchase orders for standard purchase packages
• Analyzes project financial performance and participates in the project financial reviews
• Oversees the Work of Direct Reports
• Ensures a Safe Work Environment
• Participates in Training / Certifications
