Job summary

Baker Concrete Construction, Inc is seeking a Project Engineer in Charlotte, NC to support field activities and assist the Project Manager with project administration across multiple small projects or one or more larger projects. The role involves managing costs, schedules, procurement, and compliance tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 2 years of experience or 6 years in construction, plus proficiency in MS Office and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years’ of experience or 6 years’ of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Generates and obtains approvals of monthly billing and earned values
• Develops and manages the project schedule on small or mid-sized projects
• Analyzes targets and goals, job cost summaries, and other reports
• Alerts the Superintendent and Project Manager of project impact relating to resource management, crew make-up/size, etc.
• Generates estimates of change orders and may interface with pre-construction on original bids
• Collaborates with pre-construction and the project team to manage the job transition process, communicate project requirements, and develop the initial procurement plans, budgets, etc.

Education

Bachelor’s degree + 2 years experience or 6 years construction experience
