Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Planning & Design, the Project Architect Manager will oversee planning, design, and construction administration for various building projects. The role involves collaboration with architects, support staff, facilities, and operations teams, contributing to department operations, mentoring student designers, and advancing design project management professionalism.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Interior Architecture
  • Professional Architecture License
  • At least six (6) years of experience in design, construction, and management with demonstrated team management and budget responsibility
  • Extensive experience in planning, design, project cost estimating, bidding, and documentation across project phases

Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience with higher education, institutional, or healthcare projects
  • Experience with DGS projects (preferred)
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM for collaboration and documentation
  • Understanding of building codes, zoning, and permitting processes
  • Ability to develop graphics for presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Leadership in design and project management
  • Experience with contract development and administration
Additional Requirements
  • Department of Motor Vehicles license check
  • Hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote)
