Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Philadelphia, PA office!

This Senior Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams in the design of various building types throughout New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. They will be responsible for coordinating all project efforts—design, administrative, and technical—to ensure efficient and cost-effective project execution. The role involves serving as the primary client liaison to meet schedule, budget, and scope expectations, while managing client budgets, schedules, communications, and documentation. The Senior Project Manager will also handle office administrative tasks, project team assignments, and proposal preparations, including fee estimation and scope determination.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary design interface with clients and consultants, maintaining proactive communication with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with division and company leadership.
  • Estimate design fees, develop proposals, change orders, invoices, and participate in collection processes related to architectural projects and client relationships.
  • Create and coordinate project schedules and work plans, and strategize staffing needs.
  • Handle contract administration, including collection and payment issues, negotiations, and add services.
  • Maintain project programs and schedules to ensure effective implementation.
  • Manage project budgets to meet client requirements and ensure firm profitability.
  • Oversee the production of design and construction documents, review constructibility issues, and propose solutions and design alternatives.
  • Provide QA/QC support to ensure design quality and adherence to project goals.
  • Mentor less experienced staff to prevent issues and improve performance.
  • Coordinate with engineering consultants and promote an interdisciplinary design approach.
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts.
  • Lead and mentor project team members, including new hires and interns.
  • Foster a culture of high-quality design within the office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Architecture license required.
  • Experience with municipal building types, such as community centers, libraries, DPWs, and court facilities.
  • Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, preferably in an in-house environment.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD Architecture, and Bluebeam Revu or similar.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Procore.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling with MS Project or similar.
  • If licensed, maintain licensure through LU completion; if not licensed, actively seek licensure with NCARB membership and work toward certification.
  • Engage in marketing and business development activities.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
