Job description

Temple University is seeking a Project Architect Manager for its Planning and Capitol Projects Department in Philadelphia, PA. This full-time position offers a hybrid work schedule, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, 11 holidays, tuition remission for employees and dependents, and a retirement plan.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Associate Director of Planning & Design, the manager will oversee planning, design, and construction administration for various building projects, from pre-construction to close-out. The role involves collaboration with architects, support staff, facilities, and operations teams, providing leadership, mentorship, and contributing to departmental operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture
  2. Professional Architecture License
  3. At least six years of experience in design, construction, and management, including team management and budget responsibility
  4. Extensive experience in planning, design, cost estimating, bidding, and document coordination across project phases
  5. Equivalent education and experience may be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with higher education or healthcare projects
  2. Experience with DGS projects

Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, Microsoft Project, Excel, Access, PowerPoint; knowledge of building codes, zoning, permitting; excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to develop graphics and coordinate project occupancy.

Additional responsibilities include supporting facilities management, developing project plans, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. The position requires a DMV license check and operates under a hybrid work arrangement at the discretion of Temple University.
