Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Cincinnati is seeking a Progressive Care (Step Down) Registered Nurse to deliver exceptional care to patients. You will assess patient status, coordinate care, and develop care plans in collaboration with the Med‑Surg and ICU teams.

The role requires 1 year of RN experience, RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS. Bachelor's degree is preferred. You will participate in quality improvement, medication administration, and supporting a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire)
• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
