Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center seeks an experienced program leader to deliver strategic and administrative leadership for the Ophthalmology Residency Program. Position Description

This Position is Open To TTUHSC Employees Only

Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical dutiescan include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities,conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee andmanage program marketing and communications, manage programdatabases, supervise program staff, plan research activities,coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning,manage program files, establish program standards and objectives,direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs,develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines aremet, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grantsare met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze programstatistics.

Major/Essential Functions

• Delivers strategic and administrative leadership for theOphthalmology Residency Program.
• Coordinates residency program operations, clinical rotations,schedules, and patient care coverage.
• Ensures compliance with ACGME, GME, institutional, andspecialty board requirements.
• Manages the execution and alignment of resident education,didactics, evaluations, and board certification milestones.
• Leads resident recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, andadministrative support.
• Monitors resident duty hours, well-being, performance, andprogression.
• Oversees program budgets, records, policies, reports, andadministrative systems.
• Serves as the primary liaison between the residency program,GME Office, department leadership, faculty, and externalstakeholders.
• Coordinates academic events, recruitment activities,graduation, retreats, and presentations.
• Supports faculty and resident scheduling, licensing,certifications, travel, and professional development.
• Manages medical student/observer and undergraduate rotations,educational evaluations, and departmental resources.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience managing orsupporting program operations OR a combination of education and/orrelated experience to equal 8 years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current TTUHSC employee.
• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or BusinessAdministration.
• Experience providing project management and/or support withinan academic program.
• Experience with Resident Review Committee (RRC) and GraduateMedical Education (GME) policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Experience with the New Innovations residency managementsystem.
• Experience with AMiON (on-call scheduling program).
