Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who balance business development with technical workloads. You bring relationships, stamp reports, and seal letters while the company handles lab work and field staff.

You will develop clients, scope and price proposals, and act as an engineer of record on awarded projects, traveling as needed to clients and sites.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• Record of bringing in work or credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and declining unfavorable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms.
• Convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review data, resolve tests, seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects; coordinate with laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
