Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who are comfortable selling testing programs as well as reviewing compaction and sealing geotechnical letters. You carry a business development target and a technical workload, maintaining relationships as your compensation depends on revenue you bring in.

The role includes serving as engineer of record on won projects, reviewing field and lab data, coordinating with the lab, and sealing reports.

Qualifications

Active PE license required or able to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Record of bringing in work or credible plan to develop market.
Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on the projects you win: review field and laboratory data, seal reports.
Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
