Center for Teacher Effectiveness in Charlotte, NC seeks experienced instructors to teach classroom management to K-12 educators, in person or virtually. This 1099 independent-contractor role offers flexible, variable hours.
Instructors typically earn $1,000 or more per training day and are paid every Friday. You’ll start with Weekend Certification (3 days, 36 hours over two weekends) before conducting trainings.
Most schools have one teacher whose room is calm by October while everyone else is still settling in. We're looking for that teacher in Charlotte, Concord, Gastonia, Matthews, and Huntersville to teach classroom management to other K-12 educators.
As one of our instructors, you'd present our classroom management training to a school's teachers and staff, in person or virtually. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness was founded in 1993, and its trainings have reached more than 400,000 educators in every state.
This is 1099 independent contractor work. There's no guarantee of hours, and the number of trainings you do can change a lot from one year to the next. Instructors typically earn $1,000 or more per training day and are paid every Friday.
You find most of your trainings through your own contact with schools, and certification shows you the outreach approach for it. Your National Director writes up each contract and handles the negotiation. Territories don't exist here, so you can take a school in your district or one across the country.
Before your first training, you complete the virtual Weekend Certification, three days and 36 hours over two weekends. It can earn you 4 graduate credits through UMass Global, and you'll get an orientation, materials to present from, and support from our team afterward.
The role suits current and former K-12 teachers first, and also coaches, counselors, deans, and principals. Most of our instructors still work in schools and train on evenings, weekends, personal days, and through the summer. Students are welcome if they're planning to complete certification.
