Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Production Manager Trainee 2 in North Carolina. The role focuses on learning, certification across farm departments, and mastering company systems, under supervision. You will progress through a development program and prepare reports identifying improvement opportunities.

The position requires relocating for training and eventual first managerial assignment, with on-call duties for emergencies and a 48-hour week expectation. EEO commitments are stated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related Agricultural field required.
• English proficient.
• Must be able to work a 48 hour week; weekend/evening/holiday work as needed.
• Must be able to relocate to complete training and managerial assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn and become certified in farm department areas including breeding/farrowing and nursery/finishing.
• Understand and implement company systems such as pig production, animal flow, health, genetics, and husbandry.
• Perform all hourly jobs under supervision and achieve certification in each.
• Develops and prepares reports on experiences and opportunities for improvement.
• Comply with environmental laws, IPS, biosecurity, animal welfare and EMS policies.
