Job summary

Smithfield Foods in North Carolina is seeking a Production Manager Trainee II to learn, demonstrate skills, and become certified across pig production and farm systems.

Under supervision of department leaders, you will perform hourly jobs, complete leadership certification, and participate in environmental and biosecurity programs while preparing reports and advancing through the management training program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related agricultural field.
• English proficiency.
• Willingness to relocate for training.
• Ability to lead others in a fast-paced farm environment.
• Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Learn and certify in all farm department areas.
• Understand pig production processes and animal flow.
• Perform hourly tasks under supervision and gain certification.
• Prepare reports on experiences and improvement opportunities.
• Adhere to IPS, biosecurity, animal welfare, and EMS policies.
• Report issues to supervisor and assist with training milestones.
