Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Production Manager Trainee to learn and certify across farm departments, mastering pig production processes, animal flow and health. The role includes hands-on hourly work, leadership certification, and reporting opportunities for improvement while ensuring compliance with environmental and EMS policies.

Upon successful completion, you may assume managerial responsibilities; relocation is available to support training and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related Agricultural field.
• Currently enrolled with anticipated graduation by end of current semester.
• Able to work an average 48-hour week, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Willing to relocate to complete training and assume first managerial assignment.
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft software.

Responsibilities

• Learn, demonstrate capability and become certified in all farm department areas.
• Understand pig production processes, animal flow, farm health and genetics.
• Perform and master all hourly jobs under supervision and gain certifications.
• Develop and prepare reports on experiences and opportunities for improvement.
• Comply with environmental laws and EMS policies; report issues to supervisor.
• Act as HOD when needed and be on call for emergencies.
• Progress in the Manager Training development program and coordinate with HR.
