Job summary

Blue Shield of CA seeks a seasoned Product Strategist to translate market insights and client needs into actionable strategies for our self-funded line of business.

The role drives competitive insights, roadmaps, and profitability initiatives, reporting to the Director of Self Funded & Buy-Ups. The hybrid role requires in-office collaboration two days per week and adherence to the 50-mile offsite rule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HS diploma with 4 years relevant experience.
• 7+ years of experience in product strategy or related fields.
• Experience with product strategy, roadmap development, and business case creation.
• Market research, competitive intelligence, and financial/operational analysis.
• Strong understanding of health plan products and regulatory environments.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Self-funded business experience preferred.
• Experience writing technical requirements for product launch.
• Advanced data analysis: pivot tables, charts, data tables, sensitivity analysis.
• Ability to productize and monetize vendor capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Translate market insights, business objectives, and client needs into product strategies.
• Support competitive insights, roadmaps, and strategic recommendations for growth, retention, and profitability.
• Collaborate with Director, Self Funded & Buy-Ups to drive strategy and execution.
• Contribute to market and regulatory analyses to inform product decisions.
