Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Product Strategist, Consultant Self-Funded & Buy-Ups to translate market insights, objectives, client needs, and regulatory requirements into actionable product strategies. You will support competitive insights, roadmaps, and strategic recommendations that drive growth, retention, and profitability.

The role reports to the Director, Self Funded & Buy-Ups, and sits within a hybrid workplace model requiring in-office collaboration two days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of experience; MBA/MPH strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, portfolio management, health plan products, or related fields.
• Experience supporting product strategy, roadmap development, business case creation, and evaluation of product performance, growth opportunities, retention strategies, profitability drivers.
• Experience conducting market research, competitive intelligence, and financial or operational analysis.
• Deep understanding of health plan products, market dynamics, and regulatory environments.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of self-funded business is preferred.
• Experience writing technical requirements for product launch preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced data analysis including pivot tables, charts, data tables, sensitivity analysis, financial modeling, and charting.
• Ability to productize and monetize vendor capabilities for clients.
