Job summary

Blue Shield of California’s Product Strategy team seeks a Product Strategist, Consultant Self-Funded & Buy-Ups to translate market insights, client needs, and regulatory requirements into actionable product strategies. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 4 years of relevant experience; MBA/MPH strongly preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in product strategy, product management, or health plan products.
• Experience in creating business cases, roadmaps, and evaluating product performance for growth and profitability.
• Experience with market research, competitive intelligence, and financial/operational analysis.
• Deep understanding of health plan products, market dynamics, and regulatory environments.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience writing technical requirements for product launches preferred.
• Advanced data analysis including pivot tables, charts, and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Translate market insights, client needs, and regulatory requirements into actionable product strategies for the self-funded line of business.
• Support competitive insights, product roadmaps, and strategic recommendations to drive growth, retention, and profitability.
• Report to the Director, Self Funded & Buy-Ups, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
• Assist in regulatory alignment and development of business cases and performance evaluations for products.
• Contribute to vendor productization strategies and monetization for clients.
