Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Product Manager for its Personal Lines team to lead strategy, definition, and development of products and features that meet customer and agent needs.

You will collaborate cross-functionally, analyze market trends, manage vendor partnerships, and develop Power BI dashboards to track performance. A strong analytical background and knowledge of policy forms, underwriting, and pricing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or preferred; CPCU designation is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in product management or related roles within Personal Lines insurance.
• Strong knowledge of policy forms, coverages, underwriting, and pricing.
• Market awareness of competitive conditions and regulatory guidelines across the U.S.
• Advanced analytical skills with ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI; familiarity with project management tools.
• Curiosity that leads to innovation and growth mindset

Responsibilities

• Define and drive product strategy and roadmap for assigned Personal Lines products and features.
• Lead research and analysis of new product ideas, emerging risks, and market trends.
• Develop policy forms and coverage language to manage risk effectively.
• Create leadership presentations including cost-benefit analysis and ROI projections.
• Serve as project manager on pilot programs and phased deployments.
• Coordinate with Product Owner on rollout strategies for new launches and enhancements.
• Develop training and promotional content with Marketing for internal and external audiences.
• Track product performance post-launch using KPIs like feature utilization and close ratio.
• Collaborate with Pricing and Underwriting to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
• Identify improvements to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain competitor product comparisons and identify gaps and opportunities.
• Stay informed on exposures through dialogue with Claims and Underwriting; monitor industry topics.
• Manage vendor partnerships and measure performance; ensure value and proper integration.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and queries for product reporting.
• Conduct proactive data analysis to communicate trends and insights.
• Design products/endorsements based on surveys and field discussions.
