Job summary

RTX is seeking a Product Development Engineer (PDE) to join the Hardware Engineering team in Tucson, AZ. This role focuses on optimizing electronic hardware designs for producibility, from schematic capture to layout, and coordinating with procurement and assembly through project leadership.

You will lead design reviews, drive schedules, and ensure adherence to IPC specs while collaborating with SMEs to meet cycle time, technology, and cost goals. This is an onsite US-based position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM major obtained by start date.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams or projects with ability to multi-task and establish schedule based on priorities.
• Self-starter that seeks to connect the dots between engineering disciplines and actively reaches out to SMEs.

Responsibilities

• Host and facilitate design reviews with a multi-disciplined team from PCB and CCA designs to manufacturing.
• Drive design, procurement and build schedule to meet program need dates.
• Generate drawing notes and review Technical Data Package (TDP) to ensure IPC adherence.
• Perform design for manufacturability analyses.
• BOM development and management.
• Review supplier data and lessons learned to ensure product excellence and continual improvement.
• Travel to visit suppliers.
