Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Produce Manager to lead the Produce Department, ensuring quality product, effective merchandising, and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced store environment. You will guide inventory, scheduling, and team development while upholding safety and company standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of grocery retail management in produce, strong communication, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with 1-3 years of experience in grocery retail with management in produce.
• Good communication skills; able to take direction and work in a team.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area, including tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
• Able to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs., up to 72 inches, for long periods.
• Able to use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 20 feet, with force up to 85 pounds.
• Maneuver six-wheel carts with force up to 35 lbs., for up to 2 hours.
• Walk total up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift.
• Maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor toward team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee sales and operations of the Produce Department.
• Ensure quality control, merchandising, cleanliness, and organization of the department.
• Manage inventory and staffing; adjust schedules to maximize productivity.
• Coach and develop team members; conduct bi-annual performance reviews and merit increase decisions.
• Attend and participate in in-store meetings; recruit and promote in collaboration with Store Manager.
• Address team concerns with independent judgment and, when needed, progressive discipline.
• Lead a team to deliver high-quality produce, service, and customer experience.
• Act as Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed.
