Job summary

Vallen Distribution is seeking a Customer Service Representative to work at a customer location, providing exceptional service by purchasing products meeting price, quality, timing, and supply reliability standards.

You will engage in procuring stock and non-stock items, expediting where needed, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and cost savings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ years in procurement preferred.
• Excellent customer service.
• Computer skills and aptitude to learn ERP and Inventory Management applications.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with MS-Office products.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform procurement activities to meet customer demand and align with purchasing strategies.
• Assess orders to expedite or de-expedite for optimal delivery.
• Place purchase requisitions and vendor PO's.
• Research and recommend vendors/items to meet specs, price, and delivery.
• Monitor quality and timeliness of products; coordinate returns or replacements.
• Follow up on PO status with vendors and communicate with customers.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Resolve account payables with suppliers and identify cost savings opportunities.
