Job summary

Vallen Distribution seeks a Customer Service Representative to work at a customer location, providing exceptional service by procuring products and materials that meet price, quality, timing, and supply reliability standards.

You will purchase goods, follow up on orders, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery while maintaining strong supplier relationships and focus on cost savings. Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year procurement preferred.
• Excellent customer service.
• Computer skills and aptitude to learn ERP and Inventory Management applications.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with MS-Office products.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform procurement activities to meet current and anticipated demand for products and materials.
• Place purchase requisitions and vendor purchase orders.
• Research and assess vendors and items to meet specs, price, and delivery standards.
• Monitor quality and timeliness of products; coordinate returns or replacements when needed.
• Follow up on purchase orders with vendors and communicate status to customers.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve timeliness and quality issues.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and document findings.
• Follow all SOPs and maintain a clean, professional work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
