Job summary

Vallen Distribution is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to work at a customer location, delivering exceptional service by purchasing products meeting price, quality, timing and supply reliability standards.

You will perform procurement activities, manage vendor orders, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining strong supplier relationships and efficient issue resolution. Prior experience in procurement and solid MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ years procurement experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service.
• Computer skills and ability to learn ERP and Inventory Management applications.
• Self-starter able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform procurement activities to meet customer demand in alignment with purchasing strategies.
• Assess orders to expediting or de-expediting for timely delivery.
• Research, assess, and recommend vendors and items to meet specifications, price, and delivery.
• Monitor quality and timeliness of products; coordinate returns or replacements as needed.
• Follow up on purchase orders with vendors and communicate status to customers.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and customers; resolve payables conformance issues.
• Identify opportunities for customer cost savings and document them.
• Follow all SOPs and keep worksite clean and professional.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
