Join our exciting and dedicated team at Vallen as a Customer Service Representative (CSR). In this position, you will work at a customer location and provide exceptional service by purchasing products and materials meeting our standards of price, quality, and reliability of supply.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, manage procurement activities, and support cost savings opportunities. A high school diploma and strong communication are required; experience in procurement is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year experience in procurement preferred.
• Excellent customer service.
• Computer skills and aptitude to learn ERP and Inventory Management applications.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with MS-Office products.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform procurement activities to meet current and anticipated demand for products and materials (stock and/or non-stock, or spot buy).
• Assess existing orders to determine action for expediting or de-expediting for optimal delivery.
• Place purchase requisitions and vendor purchase orders.
• Research, assess, and recommend vendors/items to meet specifications and delivery standards.
• Monitor the quality and timeliness of products; coordinate returns or replacements as needed.
• Follow-up on purchase orders with vendors and communicate status to customers.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Research and resolve accounts payables with suppliers.
• Identify opportunities for customer cost savings.
• Follow SOPs; keep worksite professional and safe.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
