Job summary

Vallen in Highland, IL is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join a dedicated team. You will work at a customer location and provide exceptional service by purchasing products that meet price, quality, timing and supply reliability.

Key duties include procuring stock and non-stock items, placing requisitions and vendor POs, assessing vendors, tracking orders, communicating status to customers, resolving issues with suppliers, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years in procurement preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Familiarity with ERP and Inventory Management applications.
• Self-starter who can work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS-Office and ability to learn ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Procure stock and non-stock items to meet current and forecasted demand.
• Place purchase requisitions and vendor purchase orders.
• Research and evaluate vendors to meet specs, price, and delivery.
• Monitor quality and timeliness; coordinate returns or replacements as needed.
• Follow up on orders with vendors and update customers on status.
• Maintain supplier relationships and resolve payables nonconformance.
• Identify opportunities for customer cost savings and adhere to SOPs.
