Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Process Tuner Field Engineer for the Power and Water Solutions team. The role is based in Houston, TX, and is open to remote candidates who have process tuner and Ovation DCS experience and are willing to travel up to 80%.

You will manage field projects and supervise a large group of Field Engineers, interfacing with customers in the power industry. Core duties include tuning boilers, turbines, and retrofits, plus performance testing to meet contractual targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of field engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
• Experience tuning boilers, turbines, and related systems.
• Willingness to travel 80% in North America.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced process tuning for boiler or BOP processes.
• Collaborate with plant operations teams on site to optimize steam and electricity productivity.
• Develop startup and tuning activities for retrofit projects.
• Generate and store tuning reports for all site tuning.
• Coordinate startup and tuning with the stimulation group for high-fidelity systems.
• Perform site acceptance and performance testing to meet contractual targets.
• Advise engineering and management teams on technical problems.
