Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Process Tuner Field Engineer to join the Power and Water Solutions team. The role is based in Houston, TX, with remote options for candidates with Ovation DCS experience and willingness to travel 80% across North America.

You will manage resources for service and field projects, supervise field engineers, and engage customers to review maintenance and system add needs while ensuring performance targets are met on retrofit projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of field engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
• Knowledge of boiler/turbine control schemes in conventional & CC plants.
• Experience tuning conventional, CC, or renewable plants.
• Willingness to travel 80% within North America.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced process tuning for boiler or BOP processes at sites.
• Collaborate with plant ops teams to tune plant processes for productivity.
• Develop and implement startup/tuning activities for retrofit projects.
• Generate and store tuning reports for site tuning.
• Work with stimulation group to start up and tune high fidelity systems.
• Conduct site acceptance and performance testing for retrofit projects.
• Advise engineering/management teams on complex technical issues.
• Engage with customers to review service needs and contracts.
• Develop and advise engineered system projects using current technologies.
• Provide project management on large installations or subcontractor supervision.
• Assist in hiring Field Engineers and participate in evaluations.
• Investigate and resolve warranty and policy claims promptly.
