Job summary

Emerson's Power and Water Solutions team seeks a Field Service Engineer with boiler experience for the Process Tuner Field Engineer role. Based in Houston, TX but remote options available for candidates with Ovation DCS experience and willingness to travel up to 80% across North America.

You will lead advanced process tuning, collaborate with plant operations, develop retrofit startup activities, generate tuning reports, and manage large field projects while mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum eight years of field engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
• Willingness to travel 80% in North America.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced process tuning for Boiler or BOP processes.
• Collaborate with plant operations teams on site to optimize steam and electricity production.
• Develop startup and tuning activities for major retrofit projects.
• Generate and store tuning reports for all site tunings.
• Coordinate with stimulation group to start up and tune high fidelity systems.
• Conduct site acceptance and performance testing to meet contracts.
• Advise engineering/management teams on complex technical problems.
