Job summary

Emerson's Power and Water Solutions team seeks a Field Service Engineer with boiler experience. The role is based in Houston, TX, with remote options for qualified candidates and up to 80% travel across North America.

You will lead tuning projects, coordinate with plant operations, and drive retrofit startups to optimize steam and electricity production. You will mentor field engineers, generate tuning reports, and apply deep process knowledge to complex problems while delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• At least eight years of field engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
• Knowledge of boiler/turbine control schemes; water treatment and renewables a plus.
• Willingness to travel 80% primarily in North America.
• Legal work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced process tuning for Boiler or BOP processes.
• Work with plant operations teams on site to optimize productivity.
• Develop and implement startup and tuning for major retrofit projects.
• Generate and store tuning reports for all site tuning.
• Support high-fidelity system startup/tuning with the stimulation group.
• Conduct site acceptance and performance testing for retrofit projects.
• Advise engineering/management teams on complex technical problems.
• Contact customers to review service needs and contracts.
• Provide project management on large installations and supervise subcontractors.
• Assist in hiring and evaluating Field Engineers.
• Analyze warranty claims per policies.
