Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Process Tuner Field Engineer to join our Power and Water Solutions team in Houston. The role combines advanced process tuning for boiler and BOP processes with field engineering leadership and travel across North America.

You will drive startup and tuning activities for major retrofit projects, generate tuning reports, and work with customers to qualify service needs. A strong engineering background and Ovation DCS experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of eight years of field engineering related experience.
• Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
• Experience tuning Boiler/Conventional, CC, or renewable plants.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced process tuning for boiler or BOP processes.
• Coordinate with plant operations teams to optimize productivity.
• Develop and implement startup and tuning activities for retrofit projects.
• Generate and store tuning reports for site tuning.
• Lead startup and tuning for high fidelity systems at customer units.
• Conduct site acceptance and performance testing to meet targets.
• Advise engineering teams on complex technical problems.
• Review customer needs for service contracts and system adds.
• Guide engineered system projects using current technologies.
• Provide project management on large installations and supervison of subcontractors.
