Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Field Service Engineer with boiler expertise to join our Power and Water Solutions team. The role is based in Houston, TX, but remote options exist for candidates with Ovation DCS experience and willingness to travel up to 80% across North America.

You will lead tuning projects, support startup activities for major retrofits, and generate tuning reports while coordinating with plant operations and customer teams to ensure performance targets are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of eight years of field engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
• Strong understanding of boiler and turbine control schemes on conventional and combined cycle plants; water treatment and renewables.
• Experience tuning conventional, combined cycle, or renewable plants.
• Willingness to travel 80% of the time, primarily in North America.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced process tuning for Boiler or BOP processes.
• Collaborate with plant operations teams to tune plant processes for productivity.
• Develop and implement startup and tuning activities for major retrofit projects.
• Generate and store tuning reports for all site tuning.
• Work with the stimulation group to startup and tune high fidelity systems.
• Conduct site acceptance and performance testing to meet contractual targets.
• Provide advisory support to engineering and management on complex technical issues.
• Engage with customers to review service needs and system requirements.
