Process Improvement Coordinator
Monthly Pay
$3,721 - $5,558 USD per month
Summary
This role coordinates process improvement activities that reduce delays, repeated work, and unclear handoffs in everyday business operations. It sits within the operations team, works under an operations team lead, and keeps improvement tasks organized from initial request through review. The coordinator works with process owners, department contacts, and analysts to clarify current steps, organize proposed changes, and track results. This is a fully remote, desk-based position offering work from home in North Carolina, United States. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.
Job Responsibilities
- Receive improvement requests through a shared queue and email, then record the issue, affected workflow, request owner, and expected outcome for review.
- Check each request for missing details, duplicate tasks, and unclear scope; ask the submitting contact for clarification before arranging the next steps.
- Coordinate discussions with process owners to outline current activities, identify handoffs, and capture workflow analysis notes without assuming the cause of a delay.
- Maintain task owners, dependencies, target dates, and open questions in a project management tool such as Asana, using priorities agreed with the operations team lead.
- Organize process maps and value stream mapping notes that show waiting points, repeated steps, and opportunities for simpler business process design.
- Track baseline and follow-up measures in a spreadsheets and data entry tool such as Microsoft Excel, checking formulas, reporting periods, and source consistency.
- Arrange small tests of approved workflow changes, confirm participant responsibilities, and record observations so process owners can compare results against the original approach.
- Follow up on overdue actions and missing updates; elevate unresolved dependencies, conflicting priorities, or unexpected results to the operations team lead.
- Prepare concise progress summaries covering completed actions, remaining issues, performance metrics, and decisions needed before a proposed change moves forward.
- Check completed work for accuracy, turnaround, complete notes, and follow-up; confirm owner acceptance and update process instructions before closing improvement tasks.
