Ingredion Incorporated is looking for a motivated Process Engineer Co-Op to join our team in Illinois. You will partner with senior engineers to monitor process conditions, perform studies, troubleshoot, and implement improvements while supporting safety, quality, production, and cost goals.

You will gain hands-on experience with corn wet milling processes, data tracking, and project management. This role requires a 40-hour work week, U.S.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with GPA ≥3.0.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the term.
• Learn/understand corn wet milling processes and related systems.
• Strong communication and written reporting skills.
• Analytical problem solving, multitasking, and time management abilities.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Reliable transportation to facility daily.
• US work authorization; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations: process studies, troubleshooting, and optimization; maintain historical data.
• Assist in capital permits, projects, and engineering studies to support plant goals.
• Manage projects up to $50k over 1–2 years in line with safety and engineering standards.
• Conduct process training and ensure documentation is up to date after project completion.
• Support plant safety initiatives when designing or redesigning work processes.
