Job summary

Ingredion is offering a co-op opportunity for a motivated student to join the Process Engineering group in Bedford Park, IL. You will partner with senior engineers to monitor process conditions, provide engineering support, implement improvements, and help meet safety, quality, production, and cost goals.

You will apply concepts from chemical or mechanical engineering coursework to real-world applications, while developing documentation, and training materials.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a bachelor's program in chemical or mechanical engineering.
• Currently eligible to work in the United States and available January–August 2026.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the term.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations groups including process studies, troubleshooting, process optimization, and data maintenance to monitor and control key parameters.
• Work on capital permits, projects, and engineering studies to support plant goals.
• Manage projects up to $50k with 1–2 year duration following ethics, safety, and engineering standards.
• Conduct process training and ensure documentation is up to date when projects are completed.
• Provide technical support to the plant safety professional on safety initiatives when redesigning processes to prevent injuries.
• Stay current in discipline, assess new technologies, and propose ideas to improve process efficiency and capability.
