Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated seeks a motivated Process Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Bedford Park, IL. You will work with senior engineers to monitor processes, perform studies, and implement improvements while supporting safety, quality, production, and cost goals.

You will gain hands-on experience in corn wet milling processes, participate in capital projects, and develop technical reports as you contribute to plant efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 preferred.
• Ability to work 40 hrs per week during the term.
• Ability to learn the corn wet milling process and related systems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with standard PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations including process studies, troubleshooting, optimization, and data maintenance.
• Support capital permits, projects, and engineering studies to meet plant goals.
• Manage projects up to $50k with 1–2 year duration per safety and ethics standards.
• Conduct process training and ensure documentation is up to date after projects.
• Support facility safety initiatives when redesigning work processes to reduce injuries.
