Strong teamwork and problem-solving are essential. The role emphasizes learning corn wet milling processes, performing process studies, and managing small-scale projects with guidance.

Qualifications

• Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a GPA of 3.0/4.0 preferred.
• Ability to work 40 hrs per week during the term.
• Learn corn wet milling processes and related systems.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement action plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations groups, including process studies, troubleshooting, optimization, and data history maintenance.
• Work on capital permits, projects, and engineering studies to support plant goals.
• Manage projects up to $50k and 1–2 years in line with safety and engineering standards.
• Conduct process training and ensure project documentation is up to date.
• Support plant safety initiatives when designing or redesigning work processes.
• Stay current with discipline developments and evaluate new technologies.
